Data Miners is looking for a SAS and SQL programmer with some exposure to statistical modeling, good communications skills, and good intuition for the relationship between data and business problems.

In addition to excellent SAS and SQL programming skills, the ideal candidate has

• Some background in statistics and data analysis
  
• Experience with large relational databases
  
• The ability to work independently -- to see what needs doing and do it
  
• Good written and verbal communication skills
  

What You'll Do

Take customer data from a wide variety of sources to build the customer signatures used for predictive modeling.

Take ideas and algorithms expressed in English and turn them into useful SAS programs.

Take fragments of code produced by analysts who are not programmers and turn them into applications with sensible interfaces that can be delivered to a customer.

Job Location

You will work in our main office which is in Boston's famous North End neighborhood, convenient to North Station and to the Green and Orange lines. The job is likely to require some out of town travel.

Additional Skills

These are not required, but are certainly a plus: 

• Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server
  
• Familiarity with data mining tools such as Enterprise Miner, Clementine, and Knowledge Seeker
  
• Familiarity with web retailing environments (such as Blue Martini)
• Familiarity with analytic environments (such as Quadstone)
•  Familiarity with web log processing and reporting tools
• Familiarity with data extraction and transformation tools
• Consulting experience
  
• Willingness to travel and to spend time at remote client locations
